The Abandoned Runway

David is so creative. On Sunday he was making kites to fly on that blustery day. Before long Cody joined in, because David was having success with his little paper kite. They moved on to paper airplanes. Eventually, they realized the best flying device was a plastic grocery sack attached to a string. These sacks were lifted up by the wind and flew as high as the house. I regret I didn't get pictures. It was such a fun activity! Near the end of the day I looked out back to see an assortment of abandoned airplanes still fluttering in the wind. Those fluttering airplanes confirmed to me that the best toys don't come from the store.
